I'm Brooke, and I'm an 18 year old amateur photographer. I first developed an interest in photography when I was around 12 years old. I try to implement my photography work into everything that I do, and so far have created an Australian Nature calendar, promotional brochure and magazine article using my own photography. I've recently completed year 12 and have got a job as a desktop publisher. My experience is mainly in nature photography, but I am looking to experiment more with portraiture. I don't consider myself a professional photographer as I have only sold a few of my photographs and I really only pursue photography in my spare time.
I shoot with a Canon 350D (that's a Rebel for you Americans), two kit lenses (18-55mm 3.5-5.6f and 75-300mm 4-5.6f) and a 50mm 1.8f lens.

Pretty sure I've already replied to this, but for some reason it's not showing up. You can find a tutorial on making a photo page here: http://howto.uber.com/nhat
Or you can just click the 'slideshow page' button when you log in as a member.
This tutorial will explain how to post-process a photo using Adobe Photoshop. You will find most of the techniques and tools I discuss can be found in other photo editing programs like GIMP and InfranView, too.
I found this Rebel Belles website yesterday and thought "Wow, a small Australian Suicide Girls equivalent. Seems innocent enough. I might join." And then I read their conditions, which are a bit too similar to, and possibly worse than the controlling SG conditions for me. They get copyright ownership of your photos, make you agree to a model release that is only viewable once you're already a member, make nudity compulsory in shoots, prevent you from modelling for any competing modelling agencies (which technically could be any modelling agency, depending on how they interpret 'competing' ), and if you don't write interviews, reviews or gig guides for them regularly then you're not welcome. I don't know about you, but I say a stern "No thanks" to that. Pity they don't have a feedback form so I can tell them so.
Over the past few months, I've done a bit of design work for a guy (Heath) who promotes DJs and organises events. This blog I posted on his MySpace page pretty much sums up my Thursday night at his Electro Mayhem event with Tommy Lee (yes, the Tommy Lee, who slept with Pamela) and DJ Aero. Except it doesn't mention the part where the security got stingy and wouldn't let me on stage to get photos, even with Heath's permission. Stupid Hollywood. I did manage to get a good shot of Tommy feeding alcohol to some random chicks in the crowd though, and one of my mum's friends was bragging about having a security guard ask him for some coke for Tommy. Got home at 3:30am and man, was I tired at work the next day :/
I bought a 2-3 month old children's python about 3 weeks ago. His name is Salazar and so far he's been eating well and he shed his skin for the first time since I've had him last night. He has an amazing colour, too, but that will probably get duller as he gets older.
I was contacted by a model on modelmayhem.com today for a photoshoot. She's moving to my city in May. I really didn't expect to get any models from that site because there were only a handful from my city.
